Being an artist I consider myself as innovator, researcher and fortunate to have a creative mind and it is becoming apparent that being an artist I can be a messenger in highlighting the issues of climate change. Being aware and paying attention of what we can use in terms of fabrics dyes and other arts materials for craetive endevours will play a major part of reducing our carbon footprint. For example the textile art technique of rust , eco and solar dyeing are processes which focuses on being environmetally aware. Eco dyeing is all about  using the natural colour dyes extracted from plants and re-using rusted objects  such as old tin cans, tire chains and other rusted objects as mordants a very useful materials in achieving that rich and golden brown colour.
