Aim:
My aim on this project is to share my knowledge in visual arts, project management, marketing, respecting Indigenous intellectual copyrights,and hoping that whatever the outcome, the participants will be able to incorporate this new technique and knowledge with basket weaving or other art medium that they already practice. Furthermore, this workshop was created to introduced the participants to Contemporary Textile artworks and was culminated from the postcards project that I collaborated with Richard Mills and Malcolm Haines.
Objective and Scope
respect the Ngarrindjeri culture, tradition and belief, highlight Indigenous cultural protocols and intellectual property rights, participants are acknowledged and valued for their contribution,offer access, engagement, social cohesion, participation. Furthermore, facilitates, mentor and offer professional development opportunities and encouragement young emerging Ngarrindjeri artist, introducing contemporary textile art idea and concept to the young participants, and explore the potential of economic, social, and cultural benefits that this project will bring to the Ngarrindjeri community while making it meaningful and relevant and in line with their interests as cultural weavers.
Here are some examples of artworks (except the 3rd image of solar dyeing which is my own artwork) created by participants during the workshop. The success and the positive outcome of the workshop had been made possible due to community collaboration effort.

'Marbling' using silk fabric (this artwork was created by child participant). The marbling technique was a popular one for children and safe for them just to have fun.
I used textile products that are safe for children and environmentally safe to dispose for any excess.
